To be honest, when I see people moaning about not winning, I think comping isn't for them.

    Winning isn't an entitlement.

I see what you're saying but surely everyone one wants to win something or else what's the point of entering in the first place :)

I think it also depends on how many comps you enter. Those who enter 100+ a day have better odds than those who only enter a few here and there.

Wins are nice but comping should be fun and once it stops being fun, that's the time to take a break, in my opinion. :)

This month has been slow for me so far. It's not one of my better months, but I don't care because I love the anticipation that I might win something or postie might bring a surprise win. It's an addiction!

Been doing this for nearly three months solid, I have only won a T-shirt, getting fed up and thinking of stopping it :(:(:(:(:(:(

I do sympathise jonnyspendthrift. I started getting a bit demoralised and envious when I saw posters who seem to win something every week but then I thought well good luck to you, hopefully it will be my turn some day.

I've been comping since 15 August and entered over 4,600 comps (not including dailies which I reckon is another 5000 plus - currently 90 a day) and have only won a bar of chocolate which hub promptly scoffed! :rotfl:

Either I'm very unlucky or there's a big win in my future! (THINKING POSITIVE HERE...LOL)

I must admit I could enter more comps but try to only enter those for things that I can use/need. Also I feel a bit guilty entering comps aimed at brides/mums/kids etc so I don't enter those either.

I enter each comp thinking what I could do with that prize and then promptly forget about it and move on. I don't dwell on what could be.

Like other posters I do it for the fun and must admit to liking the little thrill I get (I know how that makes me sound!) when I check my em/tm/facebook/post box/phone hoping there's something there to say I've won something.

So keep trying jonnyspendthrift I'm sure you'll win something else soon .:)

Just wish I could find a quiet mouse as the clicking is driving hub mad....:D

    Keep at it.

I almost gave up several times when I first started, but I'm glad I stuck with it! I enter as many competitions as I can (for things we want/need, of course) and then I just forget about the competitions I entered so I won't get too down when I don't win.

But boy, when you get a winning phone call it makes it all worth it!

I've only had one win this month but it was an amazing win. And I only had two wins last month, but one of the prizes was amazing (iPad 3). Just keep at it. :)
  • youve won a tshirt more than me :D i do this for something to do when im bored and havent won yet and thats after 6 months. Dont get down about it. :)

this is so true, i quite often take a few months away from it. clears my minds, lets me catch up on things i have been putting off and gives my poor postman a break! Were never in for when parcels come so he takes them away again double the work for him:o
would love to win an ipad!

When I first started (a few years ago now) I didn't win anything for 3 months. Eventually a DVD came (me and hubby watched it, worst film ever, haha) and then nothing for a couple more months. Then within the space of a few weeks I won a holiday to Italy, a Loose Woman comp and various other bits and bobs.

It can be disheartening but like the others I comp in the evenings to wind down from the day and I love the anticipation of postie bringing a prize to my door. Keep plugging away and the wins do come.

i think after Martin put on his news letter to over a million people 'what about trying comping' lots of people have started... more people entering does bring the odds of winning down rather.
Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .

Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.
  • Its like entering the lottery every week... you probably won't win it but you might win a tenner now and then!! But as everyone else said, you have to be in it to win it!! Someone will win the biggie prize in every comp and one of these times it might be you. Keep at it!!

It took me about 7 months to win something and then another few months of trying to win anything else. It picks up at xmas time on facebook btw, there are loads of instant win comps and daily give aways then! Just keep your eye out :)
2011/12: Wii & mario cart £200 lego bundle Samsung Galaxy S3, 2 nights in London with flights, £200 spending money £1000 cash! Spongebob joke teller!

    2013: Wii U & spongebob game
