Is there anything else like this cheaper?

So my parents are re doing the kitchen. Our floor is uneven, there are lumps and bumps in places, so it hasnt been possible for us to get ceramic tiling, we have had to have lino. However my parents found this: http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/tiles/wall-tiles/mosaic_tiles/Colours-White-Marble-Mosaic-Wall-Tile-320-320mm-12257884?skuId=12788590 , I know it says wall tiles but it can be used as flooring. its kinda on a flexible self adhesive base, and then you can grout in between the bits. However it worked out really expensive for the whole floor, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any way of getting it cheaper, or if they know of any similar product in any other store?

Thankyou!

Are you sure they are not going to be slippy to walk on ?

Why don't you put down a self levelling compound?

Why not lay some self levelling compound first, then get proper floor tiles.

It wouldn't be flat, so wouldn't be safe.... and it'd look like brick rubble imho.

You don't need to take out the kitchen because you only tile to just under the plinth. Knock the large lumps off with a bolster and lump hammer or use an SDS on chisel function. Then screed it before tiling. Flatness counts not level whatever tile you are laying and don't use wall tiles either.

Got a pic of this offending floor? Then we can see how bad it really is.

    Cheers

They don't want to completely re-level the floor. I should have added in my OP that we are going to be moving house so this is just a quick fix kinda thing until we move, we would like to leave that job to someone else. They are not massive bumps , but they are noticeable, and big enough so that ceramic tiles cannot be laid down.

I didn't say level it. I said knock the big lumps off. It may be that having done so you can then tile. Its not rocket science and if I could see a pic I might just have said just knock the lumps off in the first place. :)

    Cheers

No it wouldn't. As Keystone says, you tile up to the cabinet legs. remove the kickboards, put down some wood strips as you don't want the legs cemented in place, then put down levelling compound. The stuff is cheap. How deep are the troughs? Or how high are the peaks?
