Don't ask, don't tell?

Looking for home insurance renewal and found a quote using moneysupermarket.com £248 from More Than.

I live in flood risk area and viewing http://maps.environment-agency.gov.uk I'm moderate.

The quotation form did not ask about flood, but states:
Based on what you've told us, we think this property:
Is not more than 400 metres away from water

If I do live within 400m is statement correct? Bit confused it's 21:10 been a long day.

Further viewing from More Than states:
To be eligible for cover all of the following statements must be true:

Your family includes you, your spouse or partner, children (including adopted and foster children), parents and other relatives who normally reside with you.

You and your family HAVE NOT :

received any conviction except for driving offences
had insurance cancelled, declined or declared void

The home you want to insure IS :

only lived in by you and your family
built of brick or stone and roofed with slates or tiles
not showing any sign of or ever had any damage caused to it by subsidence, landslip or heave

The home you want to insure is NOT :

left unoccupied for a total of more than 60 days in a year
a weekend/holiday or second home

The home you want to insure or the land belonging to it have not been flooded in the last 5 years.

As this don't mention flood I haven't lied have I?

Ring them and ask? Else you risk taking out cover which could be void.

They are asking if you live within a certain distance from a source of water (that could cause flooding), such as a stream river or lake. If you do, tell them. If not, answer "no".

And insurance is based on the principle of utmust good faith. Don't ask, don't tell does not fall within that maxim.

Does it not say something about leaving out or failing to disclose
    material facts?

Thats the problem with comparison websites, They dont ask all the same questions.

Read the posts on here where they failed to payout or increased premiums because the comparison site didnt give them enough data.

What I will do is get a quote direct from the insurer's site rather then rely on a comparison site.

Looks like I'm better off phoning for quotes, oh joy.

Seems to me the whole point of online purchasing is that you don't need to phone them.

Very clever well paid people write the questions which gives them everything they need to set premiums whereas the call centre operator you'll talk to is poorly paid/trained and you could well end up with incorrect info or talking yourself into a higher premium.

    In terms of the proposal...
Based on what you've told us, we think this property:

    and

obviously means your property hasn't been affected by flooding in the last five years

Just phoned Churchill, mentioned flood area, she just asked current flooded = no, flooded in the last 10 years = no (lived in this street for 2 years no flood), verified I'm at moderate risk as according to http://maps.environment-agency.gov.uk she said that is fine we can cover you.

I took her name, date and time of call and number I rang for future reference.
