Cleaning Stone wall?

Hi there, I have an old stone garden wall and when young my DDs painted our door number on (it was useful at time as only have a side door so number couldn't be seen) and now I would like to remove this. Is there some product/method of doing this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Don't know really but the house was built in 1903 if that helps? I don't think it's yorkshire stone as that has lovely orangey bits in, it's just old yellow type of stone. Does it make a difference? There are some parts of the house which is crumbling away but the wall seems to be fine - even if it's on a main road and a little bit black because of it.
Sorry if I can't be any clearer."It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -
Hi,
What about the graffiti remover you can buy? Or paintstripper?0 -

I would recomend using a presure washer with a light detirgent if you don't know the stone. The reason i ask is some sandstones react to the paint removers and quite literally disolve infront of you.0
