    Hello, I'm back!

My question - do you think the plumber would have said what he said if I'd been a man rather than a woman?

It depends if this imaginary 'man' could follow the programming steps given in the manual or not? Are you saying that understanding plain English and following instructions is dependant on gender or is your question sexist?

It is interesting to note that the only poster that you have thanked, is the installer who has agreed with you, admitted defeat and stated that he also could not understand the user manual either. This installer now comments that you have had very poor service but has not posted anything useful to help you with your problem.

Also - any advice on how to make the programming work? I've used the override function to stop us all freezing, but it's not ideal...

Why have you not copied and pasted the 'help sheets' that you have now received from the manufacturer? You say that these have helped you but it still does not come on at the set time. Have you set the clock set correctly? i.e. hours, minutes, day, month, year? Remember the clocks have now changed. Perhaps there is something in the programming sequence that you have misunderstood? i.e. have you programmed the ON time for the correct day or days of the week?

You have convinced yourself that it is difficult to program when it is not and you know that others can set this programmer by simply following the step by step instructions provided. Would you have still convinced yourself that it is difficult to program, if this one installer had not been so negative? If you want to wake up to a warm, then you need to be more determined.

  • i do not have the help sheets the OP has been sent but i have read the installation instructions & IMO they are not at all easy to follow so I'm not surprised the OP is having trouble, the installer must have known how to programme it in the first place so it is good customer service to explain this to the customer & if it takes once twice or 10 times so be it, if they can't even be bothered to do that how does that bode if the customer has a problem, so yes i still think it is very poor customer service by the installer.
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
