Online backup - not syncing!

Hi,

I'm looking to store large files securely online, with the files in question ranging between 300 MB up to say 700MB. I investigated several `payed for` products some time ago though they didn't address what I wanted, which is online archival storage WITHOUT syncing. The problems I ran into were if you deleted the local file, then the online version would propogate the deletion.

I'd just like a service where by I can upload a file which will be a duplicate of the local backups I have and never touch it again.

I don't really want to use the `free` data storage services like Google Drive, Skydrive, Amazon cloud etc as they all appear to have certain rights over your content.

So to summarise, I'm looking for an online archive storage service (no syncing required), with secure encryption for transit and whilst stored on the server. I'd be looking at having at least 10GB available storage space I would think.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Amazon Glacier is very cheap for archive style storage.
You don't get immediate download access to your files however (3-5hrs) which is normally fine for archival storage anyway.

I keep my hard drive images on it.

I assume that you have a very good upload speed to manage that?

Upload speed is okay but nothing to shout home about. I don't really have another option, though the files do compress fairly well so that'll help. (The quoted file sizes were uncompressed).

For anyone that's interested - Jungledisk also looks very good, and has very low prices. It uses Amazon s3 services so will be robust and secure, and from what I can gather, lets you get to your files as and when as opposed to the 3-5 hour wait on the aforementioned Glacier. Both look great though...
