Can someone help me list this item?

I'm trying to list a broken kindle. Also the mains cable is missing. But when I mention the missing cable in the listing it refuses to accept the listing. It says that I shouldn't mention stuff that normally comes in the box in the listing. But I'm trying to say that something that SHOULD be in the box isn't there.

Any suggestions as to words I can put in my listing to get the thing accepted & still accurately describe it?

Grrrr

Are you listing it as new, and that is why it is not accepting?

Can you say excludes the power supply?
  • Take a photo and state in the listing everything in the photo will be sent.

Then list all items that will be sent, eg.

    Items that will be sent.

    Faulty Kindle
    Original box
    Instructions
  • The problem is that EBay wants me to not mention things that the buyer would normally expect. So you can't mention a lead if it's normally included.

But it's system is clearly detecting the word lead & not likening it. Doesn't understand that I'm talking about the absence of a lead.

Think I'll go with the suggestion of saying it's just what's in the photo. Might check with the winning bidder that they understand that before I send it.

    Thanks!

I haven't heard of this. Can you list it as something which is clear what it is but the bots don't pick up, or is it a tick box thing?

    Power cord, mains lead......so on.
  • This is strange, I listed a couple of iPods last week and the system happily let me mention headphones & USB lead without a problem.

Maybe its picking up you are mentioning things that aren't in the auction and may class it as keyword spamming.

EG someone searches entire listings for Kindle Mains Lead it would still pick yours out as it mentions it.

If you just mention things that the buyer will be getting and nothing more, and make it clear that will be all they get, I can't see that being a problem.
