Trouble within web pages

I can get to web sites OK but when I click on something within that page, nothing happens. The "wheel" keeps spinning at the top of the page.
This is on both computers , one a wifi, other connected by wire to (BT) broadband.
Any solutions?

reset ie to defaults, tools, internet options, advanced!!
