I am about to try SILENT ROAR.
The pellets are soaked in real essence of lion dung, dried and then sterilised. All the cat families are territorial. Even the bravest of !!!!!!s will retreat when they realise a LION KING has been there first.
This is a GREEN PRODUCT containing no artificial chemicals.
Under normal weather conditions an application will be effective for up to three months.

Will let you know how I get on.

My old next door neighbour had one of those to try and stop my cats from pooing in his garden, worked for about a week then the cats just got used to it and carried on pooing regardless of the stupid noise.
I've heard there are plants that can be grown that cats dont like the scent of but not sure if they work.
Apparently that silent roar stuff works until it rains/snows whatever then the scent is washed away.

    HTH

(I've since moved, my cats now poo in a completely new garden, shared with a dog)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • works in my small garden. i spent a fortune on 'scataway' and other similar scent based stuff but the ultrasonic thing i got got from B+Q worked from day one.
and quite the reverse happened to me in terms of cats getting used to the noise ... even when the battery goes they don't come back.

    cheers

I bought one of these last year. It took a flying lesson up the garden after I had to scoop up yet another pile of poo from the grass...........waste of time in my opinion...........far better and more amusing to sit at the kitchen window with a pump action water pistol!
    Smokefree since 27-9-2007
  • Grate some orange peel and scatter around the garden.
    It really works, honest!!

not sure who would sell it but remembered out of those home catalogue companies that they had a cat and other small creature repellent that connected to the water pipe.... if it detected movement of a small creature it will look towards it and spray water.... supposed to not spray bigger creatures like humans....

I am watching this thread with interest as i think the person who brings
out a successful cat detterent deserves a knighthood.
I have tried everything orange peel, pepper.used tea bags soaked in eucalyptus oil and the plants you refered to earlier are curry plants,
a market garden said they will work but the cats just keep apearing.
Where the cats cross my garden nothing will grow at all on it.
    So heres hoping for success.
