Washing machine shrinking clothes

Hi,
I have had a problem with my Amica washing machine shrinking clothes intermittently.
I purchased it just over a year ago and it came with a 2 year warranty.
My partner noticed it had shrunk one of her dresses when we 1st got it but I thought she was just blagging me so as to get a new dress lol.
Anyway,it seemed to be a bit hit and miss but when it packed up after 1 year, the circuit board was replaced.
I thought that this would solve the problem.
Anyway,a good few months later the shrinking problem seemed to return badly again so I complained and an engineer came out.
He started telling me that clothes these days do tend to shrink a lot more.
I explained to him that my washing machine was shrinking older clothes that have been washed numerous times even on 30.
I also shown him my workgear which had shrank in my washer but not in my mums!
He had a quick look and then decided he would come back after his holiday and fit a new thermistor.
2 weeks later a new thermistor was fitted and things seemed ok until less than a month later, one of my partners tops has now shrunk loads
I emailed Amica again and they replied asking me if I was sure I was following the care labels on the clothing (this really !!!!ed me off when asked this as I have explained to the engineer etc etc that the washer is shrinking on the lowest setting and the problem is "intermittent").
Amica also said that if they send out an engineer again with a thermometer and no fault was to be found,I would be charged.
If there is an intermittent fault, how can an engineer guarantee to find the fault (especially if he is here for less time than 1 cycle on the washer lasts??).
I really am getting very angry about this and I feel like I am being fobbed off with an item that is not fit for purpose and is ruining clothes (I have kept lots of these clothes so I have plenty of stuff for them to test if they want to!).
Any advice would be really appreciated
Cheers

To be honest, I know it's got a 2 year warranty etc but fighting this may be more time than it's worth - if they come out and do charge (they'll probably take card details before the visit) then you'll be hard pushed to claim the cost back.
I have an Amica oven and it's the cheapest piece of **** I've ever owned, I'd sell your machine on eBay and buy a decent brand if funds allow, if not pick a good 2nd hand unit up from eBay.
I paid £50 3 years ago for my Hotpoint, and it's still fine.0
