over the last 2 years i have payed over 3000 in bailiff charges as i have recieved 19 tickets, i was parked directly outside my shop, on most occasions, one outside my house and various other places. there was a full 4 page spread in our local paper last month about there being no parking signs and most the the yellow lines were faded and broken i contested most tickets, but i wasnt recieving replies. once i got 4 tickets in one week then 5 weeks later a council bailiff showed up wanted over a 1000 but i had no letters at all reguarding this most occasions i didnt recieve letters. can i claim any of this back .

I can't see how a Bailiff would turn up after only 5 weeks, Bailiffs are appointed by the courts and would only call after the case had gone to court and you then failed to pay what the court ordered within a set time, this process takes several months, often more than a year, not 5 weeks.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

Go to bailiffadviceonline, they will charge a small fee but their knowledge is far greater than your average forum. The chances of refund are low.
I must admit surprise that you let it get beyond the charge certificate when obviously the appeal failed. Did you never take it to patas? Why not? Your appeals to the council failed why did you not pay then?? Why did you not get letters? Is your address for the car correct? Have you moved in the last 2 years and not updated DVLA? You will be asked all these questions (and more) when you go to BAO,
May I also suggest that you also go to pepipoo, com.
Give them a lot more info than you have done here please.
Most of all -why did you continue to park there?
Agree with post 2 please elabourate.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Sorry, the crystal ball is on the blink.... once i got 4 tickets in one week then 5 weeks later a council bailiff showed up wanted over a 1000 but i had no letters at all reguarding this most occasions i didnt recieve letters. can i claim any of this back .
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -

Ignoring council tickets is never a good idea, if you kept parking in the same spot and kept getting tickets why the hell did you carry on parking there ?You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Well if it's a reaction people want...
...OK, buy the council some flowers and send them a letter of apology, tell them you've been very naughty and you won't do it ever again! Next time you go to the place where you got the tickets, think about maybe not parking there!! Must be a great idea. Of course I doubt this will stop the council bailiffs, they must think they've found an easy touch. Well next time they knock, tell them the person they want moved out, you have no forwarding address and then watch them leave! Magic!
