Both sets of my grandparents seemed quite rich and well heeled, but they shopped in Kwiksave, Lidl etc and grew their own veg to save money and so they could take their holidays in the sun several times a year. If Gran still had her faculties, she'd be wombling with the best of them and would have loved the idea of free coupons from Facebook!
