I shopped at Ts today, for a wee change.
Anyway,
I handed all my coupons over including a PP for £5+
The SA didnt have a pen, she asked if she could keep the receipt and I said no, but I will rip it up, which I did in front of her. She then scanned the PP and it came up that it had been used before, I have never knowingly done this, but I suppose I could have accidentially.
A supervisor was called and she said its ok, just come to customer services, wheres the receipt, and I showed her the little bits of paper in my pocket. She said its ok I will just sign it off, which she did, she put it through as a did not scan.
This is just to warn folks that if they do try to reuse a receipt then it shows up on the tills.
Exit one very relieved shopper.
Gosh I could get done for that:Dnever stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -

An innocent mistake to make, not helped by the fact Ts staff rarely mark receipts
The unique bc's were brough in pretty recently, probably as a result of intentional abuse on a large scale
I think A's is going to go the same way. In fact, I can see A's doing away with vouchers entirely. I bet you will be able to check the value online but have the the SA just scan the barcode on your receipt to deduct the amount from your next shop.Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

If you are like me you'll always think "if only I found this site sooner"
If only I found it before bubbs was born
If only I found it before we decided to have bubbs
If only I found it before I married
If only I found it before I bought my first home
If only i found it when I was a student
etc
etc
the thing to remember is, you have found it now
So true and well said:)Smileand hopefully the world will smile back

Not sure if this is comparable however today I wanted to return a jumper to asdo, I had the receipt however the credit card I'd paid on had been cancelled since I bought the jumper. I expected the SA to offer me a gift card at best but she just handed me the cash - which I promptly spent on stuff I didn't really need but was v cheap:o
Worth a try I would say - possibly pretend your card has been cancelled?!
I took back an item of clothing a while ago that my mum had bought my dd. They asked for the card to pay it back onto and when I explained it was my mum's they said any card would do.N1LDA0 -

Sorry, you are beyond help!
Just kidding, knock yourself out. I'll probably give it a go tomorrow too. Don't forget your fillers!

I'm pretty sure it is against credit card T&Cs and may even breach money laundering laws (I dont know for sure but have seen that discussed elsewhere)
My paranoid nature means I would steer well clear of that
I'd do it on a cash receipt in a heartbeat.
And before [STRIKE]anyone [/STRIKE] one particular user starts, that doesn't make me a hypcrite by the way. It just shows I prefer to do things that are not trackable and would not result in a change to policy that would make things harder for people in the future
Fair comment, not saying that I have ever done it, just that they have never checked that it was the correct one I put in machine if I have had a refund. I would agree that its not worth getting into bother overIf it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:0
