I used one the other day on the self service till, but it is so light it didn't register when I put it in the coupon slot. Till kept shouting for me to deposit the coupon. SA had to prod it through with a card. She said they have to pass over a sensor to make them work.

No, never been, or want to.
What is it about France and Breathalisers though, all of them mention 'can be used in France' on them.
