This has been the done thing for a long time, I worked in a supermarket about 20 years ago and even then all split bags, bashed tins etc went in the compactor, our local co op has even taken to locking their bins to stop people removing disposed of goods- they say it is to stop them being sued if someone suffer from eating an ood or damaged item!!!, I agree it is wrong but they (the supermarkets) have an answer for every argument:oGood grief, disgusting - has anyone else been told this as well?
If I was told this I would be kicking up a stink - starting with a letter to our local paper as we have a food bank starting up, then a letter to our local MP telling him about the food bank and what I'd been told by tosco HQ and then a letter to tosco HQ to ask if this was really the case, also about food banks etcThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -
