Thanks to Mutley for the latest photo of Felix.

Just got back from Sada cspt, no cheese there (well, of course there's cheese there, just not the right sort!!)
I think its a sign that I must stop getting cheese!

Did finally find the £5 finish and the carling chrome (£1.48).

Arghh, I do feel your pain folks about the mud. I have two dogs of my own (and often have another one staying or a foster dog in) and this time of year can be hard work.:(

After many years of faffing around I finally investing in some turtle mats: http://www.turtlemat.co.uk/Classic-door-mats/

They are expensive, but they wash up like new and look amazing. I bought 3 x long fawn coloured mats (75cm x 150cm) and they are end to end along the length of my galley kitchen on laminate.

Before that I had spent a fortune on various cheapy mats that always fell apart after a few washes (especially the backing). My turtle mats look like new after many years of use & washing.

These mats aren't miracle workers, but they do take off some of the dirt which you can then hoover off the mat when it dries.

I am lucky that after walks, I can bring my dogs in through my back garden and into my kitchen. When the mud is really bad (thick clay soil!) I keep a pot or bucket of clean water outside my back door and dunk each dogs paw into the bucket before they come inside. This gets the mud off and just leaves wet paws. I then make the dogs wait on the first turtle mat as soon as they step inside and then I give them a proper dry down with a towel.

I also keep a baby gate across my kitchen door so the dogs can't get access to the living room until they are dried off. ;)

If you are finding your dogs are smelling a bit wiffy due to getting wet daily, you can sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda on your carpets (then hoover) and even through your dog's dry coat. It is a natural deodoriser and perfectly safe.

I also use a natural air freshener (citrus magic: http://www.quickvit.co.uk/toiletries/air-fresheners/citrus-magic-air-fresh-orange-7oz.html) that is non toxic. I don't like using febreeze type stuff.

Thank you for this but i am afraid i would be picking the mat up when i went to work or out without her. She chews rugs small matsif left in the kitchen with her  I also shut her in kitchen because stupid girl jumps over a baby gate :rotfl::rotfl:
  • Just seen this over on Yahoo, handy for those of you with blonde hair and a stash of Tommy K:D

Strange beauty trick 7: Rejuvenate blonde hair with tomato ketchup
Whether you’ve had a hair dye disaster or are experiencing chlorine-induced green tones from spending too much time in the pool, blonde ladies can counteract green shades and rejuvenate their color with the help of tomato ketchup. While it may not be the most appealing hair treatment, the red condiment can neutralize the green in your hair, leading to shiny, golden locks once more. Apply the tomato ketchup to hair and leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off and shampoo as normal. Read more on realbuzz.com...
