Forgetting my manners. Good Morning everyone. Don't know how I'll fit everything in today. Shopping, gardening, visiting friends!

Do any of you have any space in your gardens? Even if you can spare a little bit, now is the time to plant some over wintering onions. Some people call them Japanese onions. Just place them in firm ground, their tops peeping above soil level. Space them out as they will grow into a large onion. They don't need any attention and just sit there until the weather improves next year when they grow like crazy and provide you with lots of tasty onions.

You can get sets from garden centres - possibly worthwhile sharing a bag with a fried as you get loads.

So that's what I'm up to today (plus asda if I have any time ):):)

Thanks for this, I only just started to grow my own veg last year, my spuds have failed miserably this time, due to all the rain. Will definitely give the onions a try.

It is indeed and I still cannot work my heating properly, its a new build and builders simply said we can't work it, heres the handbook. I managed to time the hot water but the heating is beyond me, it is ridiculous. We have always had timers to set for the heating and hot water and never had a problem before now so it isnt that I'm thick, lol.

I'll have to contact taylor wimpey and if they can't sort it out I suppose we will have to pay for an engineer to come out and reprogram it.

I have to plant in the class veg box, so will give these a go.

Anyone have any suggestions for other plants/veg for my children to grow in their class veg box?

I do not have green fingers lol.
