Ahhh, yes, portion control will do it too!
I do a version of the 5:2 fasting (in our version we have a homemade soup on the day), I often skip lunch, we don't have puddings, but I've either stood still with weight or put it on. I fear that medication, sedentary work situation and my generous portions may be to blame. You've given me lots to think about ... starting with a smaller dinner plate!

A little housework and laundry - done
Plant some bulbs in the garden - done, extra aliums and also some extra deep purple iris planted in the front garden - just need to mulch now (and plant all the bulbs I've bought for the back garden...)
Trim the box balls back into shape - not done, run out of daylight
Power wash the chicken coop - done
Stocktake preserves for Christmas hampers - done (26 jars whiskey marmalade, 24 jars hedgerow jelly, 27 jars crab apple jelly, 6 jars gooseberry & elderflower jam, 28 jars spicy pear pickle, 9 jars rhubarb and ginger chutney, 9 jars spiced plum chutney, 6 large jars piccalilli, 3 large jars pickled pears)
Make shopping list for Christmas pudding ingredients - need to do by Thursday
Research breakdown cover - not done
Celeriac, apple & blue cheese soup for lunch - based on this recipe but with less blue cheese and no cream
The roast beef from a local farmer's market was every bit as delicious as I knew it would be :T

We use Auto Aid for breakdown cover - about £36 per year. Only needed them once in about 5 yrs.
