Ahhh, yes, portion control will do it too!

I do a version of the 5:2 fasting (in our version we have a homemade soup on the day), I often skip lunch, we don't have puddings, but I've either stood still with weight or put it on. I fear that medication, sedentary work situation and my generous portions may be to blame. You've given me lots to think about ... starting with a smaller dinner plate!

Well done Mr. MWC ... what a nice feeling to know he's a trim young man again!

    Enjoy your Sunday x

    Plan for today:

A walk with Mr MWC in the glorious sunshine
    A little housework and laundry
Plant some bulbs in the garden
Trim the box balls back into shape
    Power wash the chicken coop
    Stocktake preserves for Christmas hampers
Make shopping list for Christmas pudding ingredients
    Research breakdown cover

I'm already looking forward to dinner - roast bone-in rib of beef

  • I'm pooped!

A walk with Mr MWC in the glorious sunshine - done, 3.5 miles
A little housework and laundry - done
Plant some bulbs in the garden - done, extra aliums and also some extra deep purple iris planted in the front garden - just need to mulch now (and plant all the bulbs I've bought for the back garden...)
Trim the box balls back into shape - not done, run out of daylight :(
Power wash the chicken coop - done
Stocktake preserves for Christmas hampers - done (26 jars whiskey marmalade, 24 jars hedgerow jelly, 27 jars crab apple jelly, 6 jars gooseberry & elderflower jam, 28 jars spicy pear pickle, 9 jars rhubarb and ginger chutney, 9 jars spiced plum chutney, 6 large jars piccalilli, 3 large jars pickled pears)
Make shopping list for Christmas pudding ingredients - need to do by Thursday
Research breakdown cover - not done

Celeriac, apple & blue cheese soup for lunch - based on this recipe but with less blue cheese and no cream

The roast beef from a local farmer's market was every bit as delicious as I knew it would be :T

We use Auto Aid for breakdown cover - about £36 per year. Only needed them once in about 5 yrs.

Am jealous of the recipients of your hampers!
