npower to edf switch

I'm in the process of switching from npower to edf blue, as per the title.

Just a bit confused about meter readings / dates.

Edf asked me to give them meter readings for each utility on certain dates.

The electricity date was 25 Sept, and on that date I provided the elec reading of 39531 to edf.

I've now received my 'final' elec bill from npower which is using an estimated reading of 39499 instead.

The bill does suggest I could contact npower to update them with a meter reading, but I had read on here that switching meter readings always had to come to the old company from the new company and not directly from the customer.

I know it won't make much difference financially but I like things to tie up properly.

Any one else with similar experience or can offer any constructive advice?

You have done the correct thing by responding to the gaining supplier's request for the transfer reading. I would do nothing until you see the opening reading on the gaining supplier's first bill. It should be 39531 but it might be 39499.

NPower are entitled to revise their final bill, but I'd leave that up to them.
