Problems with Skype and TalkAndWrite

Hi. My computer won't shut down.

I've discovered that the only way to get it to shut down is to terminate the process TalkAndWrite, which for some reason starts up automatically every time I start Windows. Is TalkAndWrite a virus?

I've tried uninstalling Skype 3.1 but it still hasn't made any difference to TalkAndWrite.

I've also found this thread on the Skype forums which says you can uninstall TalkAndWrite in Skype 3.0 by clicking Tools then Do More. However, I've only got Skype 3.1 - and when I click on Tools, I just get a pop-up box saying "Internal Error". So far, I haven't managed to get my hands on a copy of Skype 3.0.

I've solved the problem! Skype 3.1 doesn't allow you to get into the Tools menu, but Skype 3.0 does. I got Skype 3.0 from http://www.filehippo.com/download_skype/?2306

The "Do More" option is greyed out until you log in, but as soon as you've got the extras manager program running, you can log out again.

They don't exactly make it intuitive, do they? :rolleyes:

Hi All
Your Skype installation was incomplete. Please close TalkAndWrite using the Windows Task Manger (Ctrl+Alt+Del) select processes and close it.

Reinstall Skype using a new version (3.1.0.152) or above.

It should works.

The app TalkAndWrite is at folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Skype\Plugins\Plugins number (116……) you can remove it by hands after you close it.
Please download our new version that handles that incomplete Skype instalation.
