a friend of mine who's been getting job seekers allowance for a quite a while recently found a job- but obviously won't be getting paid for a month
but unfortunately, his jobseekers allowance has stopped- how is he supposed to support himself while he waits for his first paycheck????
surely- they should continue to pay him his jobseekers until he gets paid right?

AFAIK they pay him until he gets a job.
Could he ask his employer for a 'sub'?
Also you may get more answers putting this on the Benefits board.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
