  • Hi thanks everyone for your feedback.

I use gas for heating and with the same supplier(SSE). Iam on credit on the gas account.
  • As advised I have contacted SSE and have arranged for one of their Engineers to look at the time switch next week.

Fingers crossed on what is going to happen next.Hope they wont annoy me with a big bill!

Thanks everyone for looking at my issue.

Its the opposite, if your night rate hasn't advanced, they need to recalculate the % on each register to credit you back.

If this occurred prior to the switch, you could also pursue a recalculation with the previous supplier.

Hi bluemorphs - From the previous posts it seems that you have Gas Heating, (Hot water as well ?) and you only use the overnight E7 power to run a washing machine.

Most certainly your supplier has to fix the Clock and re-calculate past bills, but if you are useing gas to supply hot water it's almost equally certain that you would far better off with a 'Standard' Elec meter tariff - Suppliers can get in a muddle if they are asked to change too many things at once, so wait till you have your adjusted billing before telling them you want to them to change your meter or charge Standard meter rates
  • Thanks Terrylw1-would be a big relief if they credit my account.

dogshome,I will keep your suggestion in mind and ask the supplier at the right time. Thanks once again.

E7 meters switch on your dedicated off peak appliances but also charge your 24hr appliances at night rate for those 7 hours e.g. lights, TV, etc...so they have to work this part out as you've paid it on the more expensive day rate.

  • Hi I have now requested for a new meter which will be fitted this week.I prefer to be on standard rates as I can then switch at the end of this year.

As regards the billing, the meter accuracy team will be contacting me soon.Is there anything I could do to get them moving quickly on this?
    Any advice please?

    Thanks

Then just need to send an engineer out to investigate the faulty time switch. The engineer going out will change the meter anyway but it would be like-for-like but the supplier could book that change to standard for you with it,

Until the meter is changed, they can't really do anything as they need to consider rebilling you bit require the issue to be resolved first to save doing it twice.

Remember to take the opening & closing readings just incase.
