Parking Charge Notice
MOTD2012
I usually park in a side street in Manchester and go for my class, after paying for my parking ticket as I arrive before 8pm, however last week I arrived late and there were no spaces in the street where I park. So I parked in the next street and as it was after 8pm didn't get a ticket and just ran into class as it was teaming it down. When I returned to my car after class, I had a parking charge notice, I looked around and when I looked up there was a sign saying private land and unlike the other street where there is a machine to pay there wasn't in this street. The ticket was issued by UK Parking Control Office, Office 309, Great Northern House, 275 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 4EL. I have heard that this maybe a ticket given by a rogue company and am just wondering if this is the case, if anyone has any knowledge of them I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yes, we don't condone parking on private land where you shouldn't, but at the same time, the only redress for parking on private land where trespass comes into it, is the actual damages you caused, which is zero at best.
Therefore their demands of £XX or whatever it is, are completely unenforceable.
You should ignore them, and ignore all the scary follow up letters that they will send you, they are all full of hot air and empty threats of court etc., all designed to scare you into paying money that you don't legally owe them.
And for trespass, only the landowner him/herself or their legal representative can take you to court over anything (zero damages!), NOT UKPCO, so ignore anything they threaten you with, its all hot air.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN. It is from a well-known scam industry.
Ignore it for a quiet life, just laughing at the letters the registered keeper will be sent. Or have a bit of fun appealing it to the new POPLA appeals service. It costs the scammers money but costs you nothing. It is binding on the scammers (and puts them under scrutiny) but is not binding upon you.
Whichever option you choose, do not pay of course!

HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Per both responses above this - do be careful where you park concerning prohibited areas but don't fall victim to this certified scam. Ignore the notice, see if they trace your details, if so, let us know what the document states regarding appealing and we can guide you how best to go from there.0
