in Credit cards
Hi guys,
I'm getting tempted into santanders 123 cc because of their petrol and tfl cashback. Problem is I've never had cc before and was wondering if it's the best solution for me to start building my credit history.
I'm working in construction and work can be on and off, but pays not bad when I am. I live at home with my family so rent is low,(house food bills) I'm going to be getting a car soon and the petrol cashback would be handy. I don't have any other bills and am pretty tight with money.
Please help me before I do something stupid
Rob

presumbaly you have considerable savings as you live at home and know your income is variable.
credit cards with benefits like cashback are usually offered to people with good credit histories(i.e. people who already have a credit card)
your best bet is to ask your bank for a CC as they know you manage your bank account well.
then use it for things you buy anyway and pay the bill in full each and every month
after 6 months or so then apply for one with benefits.0 -
Thanks Clapton, I'll go to my local abbey and ask one of the beautiful assistance.
Cheers again0 -
Quick update. I went last weekend and was accepted for abbeys 123 cc.
Now I'm on the first rung of the ladder, can anyone tell me how good abbeys cashback scheme is compared to others? I thought the travel 3% would have been hot, but havn't seen much of it here.
Anyway cheers guys and Clapton for the help.0
