I get child benefit for my 2 kids. Would having a salary of 50K+ stop my child benefit?

Not really after tax, NI and probably pension contributions. Maybe about £2700 a month net. Out of this would come mortgage payments etc and I would hazard a guess that the OP is possibly in the south east where housing costs will be high.
There is a thread on here where someone not working and on full benefits is getting very very close to this figure with no commuting costs, work clothes etc to buy.
Plus of course with higher salaries comes higher work loads, responsibilities etc.0 -
Iy blummin' well is when youre a pensioner living on about 11, but its all relative I suppose, I dont have a mortgage or kids, thank god.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
It's all relative. To my friends in my home town £50k is a bucket load. To my peers in the company I work at it is quite modest and to my solicitor friends it is nothing compared to what they earn.
It really is all relative, my wife's boss makes £1m+ a year, some kid of a sultan has a couple of £bn stashed away and would certainly value my wife's boss as worthless!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
to me who lives in Surrey, 50k is not a lot. I live in a flat on the edge of the towns most notorious council estate, and my neighbour recently sold her 2 bed flat for 200k. I won't even start on the price of a pint, lol0

To someone who lives in Tyne and Wear it's a fortune...
