Hi there everyone,
Im new to this forum so hopefully i am doing this right lol.
Basically i am about to reclaim my Bank charges and send them a letter. It is not a huge amount, (not thousands but certainly hundreds), and i was wondering if i send them the letter with the claim on it will they then cancel my existing overdraft facility??
I dont want to lose the overdraft facility as occasionally i do go into it so would like to keep it. Im just worried that i start claiming back charges and then they turn around and say that they are cancelling my overdraft.
Hope someone can help me out.
Many thanks.

On what basis are you reclaiming charges? You dont sound as if you are in financial hardship and it doesnt sound like first time error. These are about the only two areas of success nowadays. So, if you have some new method works, there will be plenty of people out there who would be interested as apart from those two cases, complaints on bank charges dont succeed since the banks won the court case.
You wont lose the overdraft facility as part of the complaint. Although if someone looks at your account rather than a computer because you drew their attention to the way you use your account and they no longer feel the facility is right for you then they can withdraw it or reduce it. Unlikely unless your account has been run poorly (and the fact you appear to be talking about bank charges of hundreds then that suggests it is).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
