Ironically the fact there are other threads makes this one better, as everytime someone complains about this being a repost it gets shunted back up to the pride of place at the top of the board.

    Good times :)

I'm going to add my comment to this thread, partly because it's got more responses than the other two and partly because it concerns the BBC too.

Slightly off topic, but did anyone watch Dogwatch the other day when Rogue Traders featured an article about sewing machines? It really frustrated me that they kept suggesting that you had to return the item within 7 days to comply with DSRs. Unless things have very recently changed, you only need to notify of your intention to return within 7 (working) days, not actually return it.

This is an important distinction and a consumer rights programme like Dogwatch should make every effort to be accurate. God knows why I watch it anyway - Anne Robinson's a hag.

Yes, I saw it and sent them an e-mail asking how such a so-called consumer focused programme could get it so spectacularly wrong. No reply of course! Nor a correction in this weeks programme. I don't know why I watch it either! It really is quite dire most of the time.

I noticed it. But nor did I see them mention that you need to notify them of your intent in a durable form....only their actress telling them over the telephone.

Unless perhaps the sewing machine was their durable form and hence it had to be sent (not received) within 7 working (another detail they forgot to mention btw) days.

I thought BBC had a research team for all this? A simple google would've set them right.
