0% Balance transfer - bad credit rating help!

Hiya,

I have around £1500 on a capital one classic card. It's at 34.9% apr. costing me an absolute fortune in interest.

I want to balance transfer it but have a poor credit rating, the only card I can see which may accept me is the capital one balance card but then I can't do that! Are there any other cards?

Or is there a card which my hubby could be guarantor on? As he has a very good credit history, we are not financially linked in any way.

What's the best way to stop paying so much interest on this card?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If your husband has a very good credit rating, then there is no reason he can't apply for a 0% balance transfer card and balance transfer the amount from your card to his.

However, you can't transfer between 2 cards from the same company. So for instances he shouldn't get a Capital One card.

Check here for most of the balance transfer deals available. http://www.stoozing.com/0fees.php

If you have a bad credit rating, then you are highly unlikely to get a card yourself. I have not heard of any guarantor credit cards either and if there is, they are extremely unlikely to offer any 0% balance transfer period.

EDIT...I have seen a lot of people post they have an average credit rating, but have managed to get a card from the Creation range.

This is possibly the only card you might get accepted for, but the 0% balance transfer periods aren't great. Your husband could apply for cards, which have upto 22 months 0%, if as you say he has a very good credit rating.
