Halifax Young Saver Account

Hi All,

I was planning on opening my daughter (9 yo) a savings account and saw that Halifax do a Young Savers Account which you can get a cash card with.

I was thinking of opening her the young savers account to put her pocket money in each week rather than just giving her it in the hopes it may help teach her the value of money and how to manage it. I know she's only 9 but if I start now she will hopefully have better money skills than I did when I was 16.

Anyhow, my question is... what can the card be used for? is it for over the counter, cash machines only or is it like a normal debit card? I've tried searcing the web but can find no information about the card itself.

I don't really want to make an appointment, trawl down there to find it's not what I wanter.

Thanks in advance.
