I have just used the DO I QUALIFY on tax credits website and the figures are showing that i should be getting an extra £30-40 a month to what i am .How accurate is this calculator .Is it showing i should be getting this bit more because of the increase in tax credits for this year?

I presume you used the HMRC tax credit calculator ?, it will be using this yrs rates so it should tally up with your new award notice.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

If you aren't getting your full entitlement that could be due to TCO recovering an overpayment from a previous year by reducing your current award OR they don't have your correct details. Either way it would be a good idea to call them to clarify what is going on.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
