Gas and/or Electricity price comparison table

Hi,

I would like to see a price comparison table where the prices are shown per kWh - ideally for both gas and electricity. I want to see them all at the same time and not have a "click here for more details" or "click here for price" button.

Is there anything like this?

Thanks

Mark

    No.

Why would you like to see this?

I'm sure there is somewhere....or you could make one up yourself.

The price per kWh is not the only factor that you should consider when comparing prices.

A company with a low price per kWh will have high standing charges or may have high primary unit charges which overall the bill would only be cheaper if you were a very high user of electricity or gas.

A company with a very high price per kWh may have no standing charges and the final bill will be cheaper despite the high price if you used well under the average amount of electric or gas.

Not forgetting the discount structure which would totally distort a table based on prices.

However a Consumer Focus accredited comparison includes discounts credited over 12 months in its headline costs.

OK, so you need more columns than just one - you need the standing charge (if there is one) and you need the two different prices per kWh (if there are two). It's still not a particularly complex table.

Don't forget the area you live in. Every region in the UK has a different pricing structure.

Then the annual discounts for taking dual fuel and paying by direct debit.

Then there are the E7 rates and ratios for those with night storage heating.

What I'd like to see is a chart for each region for dual fuel, electric only and gas only (updated daily) showing the cheapest supplier for each region for various rates of consumption in steps such as 100kWh. It won't happen though.
