help with private sale

Hi

I have just seen a used car (private sale) that we want to buy. What do i need to make sure the car has in terms of paperwork. i am not from the UK and bought my last car off a very good friend who had everything sorted.

as long as the owner has the V5 it should be fine.
You will need to detach the green section as this if your proof that its now your car.
the previous owner should post the rest of the paperwork off to the dvla.

Might be worth getting a HPI check done to check if the car hasnt been written off before or even if its still on finance. Have a look on https://www.rac.co.uk and they have HPI checks for £24.99

Not so sure about that. DVLA have sent me the V5 for a car I don't own!!:rolleyes:
