Not that I know of. However wouldnt you still need insurance while its not being used say incase it was to get stolen or your garage was to go on fire ?

    Just a thought

Its not just insured when you drive it- what happens if it gets stolen or the garage burns down and takes the car with it?
  • Hi there - somthing fairly new to the market is 'Pay as you Drive' car insurance. I know that Norwich Union have started selling it and over the next few months more and more insurers will be offering this type of cover as an option.

I'm not completely up to date on how its giong to work but it might be worth checking out as it sounds like it would be the ideal sort of cover for you - try looking here to see if its of interest

As others have said you don't just need your car insured to be "on the road".

There was a thread on here recently where a car was hit by flying roof tiles whilst "off the road" on the drive and uninsured.
So there are a number of things that can happen whilst you aren't driving it.

Have you considered other forms of transport to work.
    There is a website called
    https://www.liftshare.com
where you can find people who might be going your way.

It might be cheaper for you to find an alternative method of transport consider you don't use the car for half the time.
