I'm not looking to get into an argument but I'm sure if you spoke to Amex they wouldn't say "let's include your mum and dads income too!!"
Anyone who seriously would think to include their mum and dads income as a pot that they have access to needs their head read!!!
Haha, I guess they assume that the parents would bail them out but at the same time I imagine there arn't many 18, 19, 20 year olds with an Amex either.0 -

'Household income includes the income of everyone living within your registered address"
Including lodgers and housemates? :eek:0 -

That's not very good advice.
Better advice would be "don't get a credit card if you're going to use it wrong".
If the OP is looking to rebuild their credit, or to use it in a positive way, then getting a credit card could be one of the best things to do.0 -

As above, if that's the best advice you can give then I hardly feel you have any business giving advice on credit cards... Explain to me, for example, why it would be better for me to pay everything upfront instead of paying for everything on credit (for which I have yet to be charged a penny (in the UK)) AND getting cashback out of it? Are you against saving money or something?I'm not looking to get into an argument but I'm sure if you spoke to Amex they wouldn't say "let's include your mum and dads income too!!"

Household income, by definition, is the income of everyone in your household. Argue that it's stupid to include parental income etc. all you want (though the vast majority of parents would bail out their children if needed anyway, so I'd hardly say it's "insane" to include it...), but they didn't lie on the form.
At no point on the Aqua application form does it say you need to have explicit access to that "pot of money".0 -

.
Because with the best intentions, not many "young people" (I was the same) use credit cards to their advantage.
For too many people it is buy now pay never0 -

So if I am in a shared house with 3 others who are both "say lawyers", flatmates, household income would be the income of everyone....
Against the spirit of the question0 -

If it makes you feel better to talk down to me to prove your an idiot then so be it
As myself and glasgowsaver have both pointed out, if you had more than one brain cell you WOULD NOT include your parents income. I am aware that it doesn't state on applications that you shouldn't include mum and dads, however you would have to be pretty silly to assume that you can.
Remember ASSUME makes an !!! out of u and me;)0
