yep.. they're not good for personal cd players and cameras unless you get 2200s or something..

RECHARGEABLES ARE GREAT FOR DIGITAL CAMERAS ETC BUT BAD FOR REMOTE CONTROLS AS THE SHELF LIFE IS NOT GOOD AND WILL DISCHARGE IN A SHORT TIME COMPARED TO ALKILINES :p

Does anyone ever use those incredibly cheap Powercell batteries you get from those pound shops? 26 AAA for £1 or 20 AA for £1.

They don't "feel" very good quality (they are very light in weight!) and I would not use them in anything particularly valuable (or anything important like a smoke alarm) as I suspect that they might have a tendancy to leak etc, nevertheless I have been pleasantly surprised when using them in remote controls etc.

shop.com and Robert Dyas blew me out on the Sony Blue Alkalines (see earlier in thread.) Just phoned me and said they weren't sending them for some unspecified reason.

If you want cheap rechargeables just look on ebay, they have some very cheap ones there indeed. Obviously i cannot post links because it will count as a referral which is not allowed.

edit- i have just found some 700mah rechargeable batteries for £2.49 delivered. If anyone can beat that please put the link below!
