Hi hope someone can help. I'm trying to sort my 20yr old daughter's car insurance for her Peugeot 107,she's on her 2nd year of insurance. her renewal is £504 but the small print say she has 1 year No Claims bonus but no Bonus protection. My husband says we need Bonus protection! I phoned Admiral & they said they can't give her Bonus protection till she's been with them for 4 years! I've got a week to sort something out for her. Thank you for any advice.

It's pretty usual that you can't protect your NCD until you have 4-5 years NCD.0

Who does your husband mean by "we"?
As far as your daughter is concerned, insurers won't do it till you have the 4/5 years NCD and most want you to also be over 25.0 -

"we" as in my daughter. Thanks for your reply. So now wondering if she should go for a cheaper quote of £393.
Life was much easier when she caught the bus everywhere!:cool:0 -

Im sure if any other 20 year old was offered insurance for £393 they would jump at it, quotes of around £2k arent uncommon for that age group.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
Sounds too cheap. Not through some dodgy broker who will vanish when anyone tries to claim.
He fills her form in says she is a 65 year of vicar who lives in a small hamlet with no roads.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Wut, your daughter is 20 and her renewal is at £393? Either there must be something wrong with that or life is just that cruel.0

Why isn't your adult daughter sorting out her own insurance?!Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

Because her parents want to help her.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
Not a lot wrong with it, if she is a female, 20, one year NCB, no claims or convictions, held licence for longer that the 1yr her NCB suggests, and lives in a Band A area, then I can quite easily believe a price of £393. I used to pay £220 - £450 between the age of 21 and 25 as a male driving since 18, before I racked up points lol.jimmyrustler wrote: »Wut, your daughter is 20 and her renewal is at £393? A LOT depends on your postcode. Where I live now, I pay more than double of my old postcode because my insurance company see my current postcode as significant risk being Band F (despite the car being in a secure car park, with monitored CCTV, electronic gates with only one point of access, and of course not parked on the road, whereas my old postcode was completely the opposite)...0 -
What on earth does this have to do with YOU? The OP is asking for help, and if you cannot give any, then don't post. She doesn't need - or deserve - snide little comments from people. How rude.mildred1978 wrote: »Why isn't your adult daughter sorting out her own insurance?!
Back to the OP. Sounds cheap for sure, but maybe if she has been driving for 3 years, and you live in a low risk area, it is right. It is very very cheap though. And maybe they are right about the bonus protection as she is young.0
