  • I recently received a letter from Egg (or rather Canada Square Operations as they are now called) informing me that my PPI complaint has been upheld. Included in the calculations, £1644.05 has been deducted as 'less any previous rebate paid to the loan as a result of your PPI being cancelled or would have been included as part of the settlement figures on early closure of your account(s)

The loan was due to end in January 2014 and I now intend to pay the loan off in full when I receive my cheque (just over 11k).:D:j

I'd calculated that I had 14 remaining payments of £300 per month to pay to Moorgate (total £4,200). I've just asked Moorgate to provide a settlement figure and they have come back with £3780.16. I presume the difference is less interest deducted and that the PPI premium is still included? The letter from Moorgate says if I have PPI on the account I may be entitled to a rebate. Would this be the amount above that had already been deducted from my compensation? Argghh -can anyone explain this please?
  • Hi all,

I've just received a letter back from Canada Square Operations (who are now dealing with all Egg PPI claims). They've calculated that £484.22 will be subtracted from my total compensation for the rebate already paid. Now, I don't recall paying the loan up early or stopping the PPI so I don't understand why this is taken off? I don't have any loan statements from them either so it's not as if I can query it with that. Do you think they are trying to pull a farce one and should I query it? There's not much I can do without the statements though I don't think?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    Many thanks,
    Lou

No point asking us as we dont have your data. Ask them. Rebates are typically given when the debt is repaid early. So, you need to ask them if you repaid it early.
