Interesting redundancy situation

I took voluntary redundancy earlier this year and was fortunate enough to move onto greener fields. At the same time, other colleagues were made redundant. However one of them went on sick leave, which somehow meant the company could not serve his redundancy notice.
I have since learned that the individual has recently left after having agreed a deal with the employer. In other words, he has been a thorn in their side for months on end and the employer has decided to pay him off in order to get rid.
This means that he has been paid far more than myself and other colleagues.
Probably nothing I can do but doesn't seem right nor fair. Any mileage in pursuing this?

Unfortunately you can't as you have now left the company and from what your saying your colleague has been given a compromise agreement which does not allow him to discuss his case openly so it'll be difficult for you to bring anything up.0

It is up to an individual to negotiate the best deal they can. It just appears this person was a better negotiator.0

And he has been sick, doubtless verified by a doctor. You have apparently enjoyed good health. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
