Rmu - Retail Merchandising Units

Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone has any experience with RMUs? (Retail Merchandising Units or in other words - stalls in shopping centres to hire)
I've just been checking prices, which is £500 per week - plus insurance and deposit. Seems a bit steep to me, but obv. will get alot of passing trade and will be dependent on what you are selling but is it worth it?
Cheers!:rotfl:

Depends on what you sell and if it would appeal to passing trade. Also if your items would be good for say a holiday eg fathers day etc try and get the week leading up to that.
Can you get them to come down any? Is there a waiting list for them? I'd imagine it may be tough to get one in the busiest stores.
Is a week 7 days in this case? Make sure you find out all the details. It works out £70 per day for 7 days (rem some nights late night, sundays shut early etc). Do you think you'd earn enough to cover that with all your other costs to make it worthwhile?0 -
Hi,
Thanks for your response!
It was in the Edinburgh area - There's a calender which says what weeks are free, It's booked up mid summer time, so that may be a gd sign as far as sellers wanting to be there!?
I would be selling children's toys such as Beatrix Potter, Miffy etc.
It is 7 days a week, most nights until 8/9. Have go to the shopping centre to see how busy the other sellers are.
