Why leave animal husbandry out of schools. When I first started teaching here, lots of my pupils knew little about neutering, didn't know traps existed for trapping farm cats to get them done, were so used to finding bags of kittens in the river when they went fishing that they thought little of it, thought it didn't hurt to let kittens 'go swimming', (ie drowned in buckets), thought they should dispose of kittens with cat flu because they thought it was fatal etc, etc.

Most of them and their parents readily accepted new ideas, and our little town has the cat popultion well under control by neutering. Possibly if it was taught more in schools, the situation wouldn't be as very bad elsewhere.

(I also improved pass rates in my subject, so no 'but you should have been concentrating on your subject teaching'). Unless people treat animals well most will never treat humans well. People abuse animals because they think that theyare more powerful than the animal. Then then also will abuse people that they think they are more powerful than.
DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.
  • Got to say Moggy Paws, well put. Taught right, it has benefits. Keep ups the good work!
