the Thermos King food flask is the best. I got three earlier this year for approx £15 each. 1 from Tesco and 2 from Argos. Maybe use Martin's shopbot to see if anyone has them on offer at the moment. I ordered on line and did pick up in store option so didn't have to pay p&p.

The reviews on these websites and amazon are great re this product and I can confirm that they keep the food hot for 7 hours plus - as long as you remember to put hot water in for 10 mins before adding food. They are robust enough for my two kids for packed lunch at school. Have seen them in black, blue and steel tempered effect.

  • Personally I would go for broke and invest in a Workman like Flask like the one I own (gotten as a Birthday Pressie)

I think taking one's cues from Workmen on Building sites is the best idea because one needs ruggedness in a flask and it will/should last you a lifetime.
I have had it up to here with substandard flasks I gotten because they were cheap hence the realisation that in this instance; you get what you pay for.
just use a Shopbot to get deal plus Customer Service.

Asda always seem to have a good range of insulated flasks etc. I got my tea flask and an insulated sandwich bag there very cheaply.

  • I would recommend the Aladdin Bento food flasks, my husband has been using them for years, they are simply brilliant, not cheap, about £14 each but occassionally they turn up in Home bargains / Quality Save for only £2.99 each! Ebay usually have them too, they're brilliant, really do keep food hot until lunchtime from the morning, work great as ice buckets at a party too!

Little trekkers have the old style heat and go ones for £10.99

and Dunelm have the newer Bento style for £10.99 with free delivery.

We've tried them all over about 10 years and in our opinion Aladdin are the best :-)

Have you decided yet Wester? I had already posted before you posted the above - but have only roadtested the king flask.

I always check on Asda and Argos websites as most people who have brought comment on the product so you get very honest opinions - many who have flirted with cheaper products (for them not to work or last) come back to thermos. Maybe there are some for the therocafe (or is that thermocafe?) barrell to help you decide. I can see another poster who also recommends these (ones that are used on building sites).

There is a thanks button at the bottom so you can thank users who you think have helped - or just reply direct.
