We've been doing this every 3 months for about the past 18.

Go to cancel card, they offer £50, use card for another 3 months. :money:

I've got 3 BarclayCards in my wallet now (as a result of their takeovers) with combined limits of nearly £40k (so I won't be getting rod of them, as they're useful for company purchased), but £50 a month for a 10min phonecall ain't that bad!

That's worth knowing, I'll try it again in a couple of months then!

To answer other points... yes, it was a replacement for an Egg card. I can't say how long I had it (several years), but it used to be pretty good - half decent rate of in credit interest, and cashback on purchases. Then they got rid of the in credit interest and it became a normal credit card, then became Barclaycard. I don't think I've used it all since it switched to Barclaycard!

Some time ago (when it was still an Egg card) I paid a small amount of interest on a balance (before I started managing my finances better and discovered MSE!), which it seems is why they're offering me £50.
