What's happened there, I thought the max was 3.4% and 20p??
Any idea why extra charges would occur?

Did the payment originate from another country? The fees are higher if its in a different currency.0

Possibly, the buyer has uk address but their email is foreign.
How can I stop this? I don't want to be charged extra when I don't even ship overseas.0 -
The buyer may well have an account registered overseas but since they are located in the UK and want you to ship to the UK then they are not breaking any rules and you may have to swallow the extra cost. However, that does not account for the difference - it should be a matter of .5 of a %, not a whole 1.5% extra - should be something like 3.9%.
The only reason I can think of for this is that you have a micropayments account which charges 5% but a flat fee of 5p; but that is probably not the case. You may need to ring Paypal CS for clarification."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

No for some countries it is 4.9%, there's a table of fees on paypal website.0

Yes, the country I suspect is 4.9%
There must be a way to block this? It seems quite unfair to be charged extra, almost a stealth fee (if the fees weren't clearly listed on the website

You could try asking for the difference back, it may work..0
