From a local Asian store, PAK stores (bottom of Normanton Rd for anyone in Derby), where we also frequently buy many of our vegetables.
Garlic & ginger are often only 79p a kilo, sacks of potatoes (25kg) usually £2.99, large bunches of spinach for just 29p

    Organic rules!
Normally I'd agree, but unfortunately it definitely goes off more quickly, and as our milk use varies from half-a-pint to 2 pints a day, it's too wasteful!

Cravendale is great for us as it stays fresh so well, though I can't say I've noticed any difference in taste - at least in semi-skimmed.

Thanks to OP - just wish I could find the offer somewhere!

Since finding Cravendale about a year ago, nothing else will do, never had second thoughts about the price, no waste, just the best, in our household nothing else will do.

Anyone down south, if you can get to bognor, go to the barnham trading post. They do milk 2 litres 85p, Sugar for 39p a bag, Big packs of cheddar cheese (called gobburner) priced between £4-£5 for just £1.99. It really is worth a visit!!

    Heres their website: http://www.barnhamtradingpost.com/index.html

I was getting jealous for a moment .....

... "glad" to see that it's a special offer of "only 3 bags max" on a "£20 spend shop"

I buy it at 59p but no restrictions on quantity. Other than PAK I dont know anywhere locally that sells it for less than about 77p

The thing is you can easily spend £20 and get about £50 of goods! They sell all the big brands and goods from morrisons, asda, safeway, sainsburys, tesco etc. Also, 5 chocolate bars (mars, malteasers etc,) for a quid!

It is hard, and I do buy organic when I can, but certainly not to the point it splits my wallet! If it's reasonably affordable, I'll go organic, if it's £9 for a steak, then no way - lol

The thing that I have always done is buy Organic milk. I probably wouldnt if I didnt have children, but after seeing a program on the affects of milk on children then researching it afterwards I can safely say it's the only product we get that HAS to be organic!
