Tesco: Worst BOGOF ever?

I quite like cheese. In fact I like cheese a lot. So I'm used to buying those 350g packs of strong Cheddar (various brands) for around the £2 mark.
Last week I got some Seriously Strong Cheddar from Asda for £2. Nothing unusual there but I thought I'd missed a deal when I saw a Tesco advert saying that it was on BOGOF.
Then I saw the price. £4.93!!!
How much longer do they think we're going to be fooled by this sort of misleading practice? To claim an item that normally sells for £2 is now worth £4.93 but you can get "two for one" is insulting to customers at the very least.
This follows on from Asda raising the price of a bag of crisps from £1 to £1.99 but offering two for £3.75. Bargain.
Haw many of these "fake deals" are out there? What's the worst you've come across?

Worst deal I saw was in Tesco.
Cakes £1 each buy two for £2.50!!0 -
Even when tescos did the buy one get 2 free offer on pre packed cheese it was cheaper to buy the mature cheddar at the deli - on offer at only £4 a kilo.
I guess the answer to the question is that they will carry on doing it for as long as people are fooled into thinking they've got a bargain!
Last week I bought some frozen fish marked up at 1.99 a pack or 2 for £7 !
I only bought one .but it would have been interesting to see what happened if you bought 2!0 -
Coke offers in Asda are the worst culprits for me. They tend to swap the deal around but currently it's a 12 pack for £4 and 8 packs are £3.84 so if you buy two 8 packs without paying attention to the SEL it's £7.68 for 16 cans and for only 32 pence more you can have 24 cans.
I think it's a bit strange that the deals rotate between supermarkets. One week Tesco will have an offer on eg. Pringles, the next week or two it's Sainsbury's, followed by Asda. Many a mickle makes a muckle.0 -
I tried to attach a photo of this but can't figure out how to .
Offer was Dolmio stir in sauce, 43p each or 2 for £3.00  BARGAIN :rotfl:Jellynose0 -
It's the "half-price wine" claims that annoy me - all the supermarkets are at it except for Waitrose. And now it looks like they've started the same ploy with the large tins of biscuits they get in for Christmas e.g Victoria Selection is "half-price" at about £6 yet Aldi has the same tin (with no particular offer) for £4.99!0

This reminds me of Quavers multipacks in Tesco. But kind of the reverse. I can't remember the exact prices, but it was MUCH cheaper to buy 2x 6 packet bags than 1x 12 packet bag. Not even a small difference, but quite a big one! It's always seemed strange to me because usually larger packets of anything are more economical per unit than smaller ones.
They do this particular offer quite a lot, so I wonder how many people are actually sucked into buying the 12 pack bag, rather than do some very simple and obvious maths. Obviously people who shop at my Tesco are a bit stupid.
Because it's fun to have money!
£0/£70 August GC
£68.35/£70 July GC
January-June 2019 = £356.94/£4200 -
Agree with the above but they also confuse me by pricing some items (of the same produce) per KG and some per 100G - OK, hardly degree-level maths to work it out, but adds (deliberately?) to the confusion when in a rush0

You need to be good with mental arithmetic at times when shopping, luckily i am.:D0

There is a term for these customers and this is what the supermarkets make the most profit on - sleepwalking shoppers!
They buy the same things week in, week out without bothering to check offers, price per kg/litre/teabag etc. Hence why most supermarket's value range are on the bottom shelf and the branded items are on eye level.0 -

At least that's a mistake and you'd pay no more than £2 for the two. I'm more annoyed when they deliberately manipulate prices beyond credibility to try and fool us into thinking we're getting a deal. Can I help?0
