How to cheat captcha
Comments

The one they use on ITV comps and on some other sites now require that you type in both. However, it is only one word that needs to be correct, the one with the letters placed in a wave shape. The other one you just need to type one letter or number, doesn't matter which one. It doesn't save much time. Also, they obviously want people to try and get all the words right as they're digitising old books.0

They use one word that they already know (the squiggly one that you must enter correctly), and one word from an old book that the optical character recognition software hasn't been able to read. After you have identified the word, other people are given the same image, to see whether they get the same answer. Once a certain number of people have given the same answer, I guess it is assumed to be correct, and used in the digitised book.0 -
I heard this a long while ago and it is very hit and miss. Sometimes one word works, sometimes it doesn't. Far easier I think to type the two words than to get it wrong and have to start again. The best things in life are free.....0

Once you have an eye for which word is the one needed it works every time (you just need to remember to put a random character for the fake word)0

I tried it umpteen times this morning after reading the blog and it never worked once. I was omitting the words with numbers, accents etc but nope, did not accept any with one word only! The best things in life are free.....0

did you enter a random character for the fake word? eg when I enter I would type something like "galkda a" where the letter a is in place of the fake word0
