Quick question. The amount of postage printed on a stamp. Is this the exact amount paid or could someone have paid extra without it showing?

Interesting. Thanks for that.0

Exact amount. If they have to pay extra it will be shown in additional stamps added (as I know as I miscalculated and had to stick some more stamps on top of a prepay the other day).
Bear in mind a cost for packaging though.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to know?0

I offered to refund the return postage to someone as a 'nicety'. My wife chucked the box so I was unsure of what was on the stamp so I asked. It was more than it cost me to send, and when I bin-raked the box it was also more than was on the stamp.0

Are you sure?
Postage cost to the seller could well be higher than the stamp shows if the seller is VAT registered0 -

I think OP is querying the amount on the stamp- even the extra amount for tracking would be shown in the total cost.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
