You don't have any money? Even female builders won't do jobs for free, if that's what you are asking.
Friends/family with building/DIY skills? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Do you really need to be in your back garden in the pitch black.
A torch is cheaper than an electrician.
Its not imperative that chimneys are blocked up, it will reduce its resale value if you do.
There you go, problem solved with a visit to the £1 for a torch.
The point is, you want, you dont need.
Or ask the errant other half if he will do them.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Why not look into cheaper alternatives? E.g. I got some solar powered LED lights for outside for about £10 at Maplins - easy enough to put up myself (yup, us females can manage things like this by ourself!) by attaching the provided bracket onto the summerhouse. It's not quite floodlight power but it did the trick.
If the chimney breasts need blocking urgently then you could achieve this quite easily and cheaply with a bit of plywood. If you don't want to drill into the walls, just position a bit of heavy furniture infront to hold it in place. You may want to stick some insulation in, but you could do this cheaply using newspaper or cardboard. You could even use large sheets of cardboard instead of the plywood if money is limited - or try your local Freecycle/Freegle/similar for free materials.
Once it's not so urgent, you can then put some money aside each money to save up and have a professional do it properly, or wait until it's convenient for a friend/relative/colleague to help (they may be more willing/able to help if there's no urgency to it)0
