Damp course

Hi
I currently have a injection damp proof which I think has run its life cycle and could do with being renewed. I have a couple of question if any one can help.
1. The wooden floor is the same height as the front street out side so how can the damp proof course work if they floor levels are the same. There is a cavity.
2. How do you protect the inside wall with the above problem
