How to dry out damp walls

Over the weekend we returned to our rental property (having moved out a few weeks ago) to clean through and, as per the contract, had the carpets cleaned. Although the carpets were a bit damp when the job was finished, we figured this was normal and wouldn't be an issue, so locked up and returned home.
Yesterday we received an email stating that [FONT="]the landlord has advised that the lower levels of the walls in the lounge area appear to be wet from the carpet cleaning - does anyone know the best/quickest way to dry these out?
Our contract runs out on Saturday and I was hoping to hand the keys back today/tomorrow (while the letting agents are open), while working full time... so don't have much time to get this sorted and dried!

If it's quite bad, turn the heating up to full and hire a dehumidifier for a couple of days. Not one of these little ones you buy from Argos, a big industrial one from any hire shop. Should do the trick nicely!
If it's only small areas....a little trick I learnt from overflowing a basin upstairs years ago was that a hairdryer on full blast and at full heat (and spending some time on your knees wafting it very slowly over the damp areas) will do the trick, although it might require some time to do this....really depends how bad it is.0 -
I should probably have mentioned... I also can't get the radiator closest to the affected area to turn on!You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0

Oops! If it's not too expensive you can hire a heater too - the ones we often use are called 'Red Rad' and they'll certainly heat the room in next to no time! Don't get too close to it though, they get very hot!0
